Decided to share a bit of the bright-and-breezy Part One of By Starlight (Which is definitely a Real Thing that I’m working on now - I wonder if I can finish it by the end of the weekend?)

This two-part track started life as some sampled jazz, all from one source, but different feels. The arrangement got split when I laid down an uneasy-sounding and vaguely disquieted version (part 2) that stood on its own. Until then, I’d been working on a brighter-and-breezier funky thing, which is snippetted here for your aural pleasure.

Because they share the same samples (I’m choosing to put my composer hat on and think of them as motifs), there’s a lot of lovely recurring themes between the two - but you can view the melodies/sounds from two different viewpoints.
