One Year Ago - The Upbeat Arp [mix 1] by anguaji

I found this just now and thought I might share it, it’s something I picked up and put down again after growing bored with it. Apparently a year ago - didn’t feel that long, you know. 

I think the history of it was that I was tooling about with the Arp function on my (then) new Akai LPK 25, laid down a nice (yet obvious) arp synth bit, popped the bg sounds on, chucked down a structure in Live and then left it for 12 months. Although why I did this on my Windows computer is anyone’s guess. 

I can already think of a couple of nice changes to throw in, so we’ll see how it evolves. 

It’s a different style not just because it’s very synthy, but also because it’s unusually hopeful-sounding, where most of stuff has some sort of sad edge to it. 

Although, listening back, it could be thought of as a brave little smile of a track.
